Rating System

The rating that any particular media receives is a reflection of how the reviewer felt after experiencing it. So a film that might have been well put together but didn’t live up to the expectations of the reviewer might get a 2 out of 5 because it was disappointing where a film that wasn’t technically all that great but was far better than the reviewer was expecting could get a 4 out of 5. If you disagree with any of the scores then feel free to leave a comment!

Here is the rating scale we use at Esoteric Fish:

5 out of 5 = Awesome

4.5 out of 5 = Extremely Enjoyable

4 out of 5 = Really Enjoyable

3.5 out of 5 = Enjoyable

3 out of 5 = Average (There’s nothing bad about this score, it just means that there wasn’t really anything to make it stand out)

2.5 out of 5 = Below Average

2 out of 5 = Disappointing

1.5 out of 5 = Really Bad

1 out of 5 = Terrible (This is the lowest score that anything is likely to get because there is usually at least one redeeming feature)
